The obelisk in history and in crystal therapy

Monuments in the world

The obelisk is a polyhedron, commonly known for being a celebratory monument formed by a tall and narrow trunk, which culminates in a pyramidal tip. It was born in ancient Egypt and was placed to protect cities and temples, by the will of the Pharaoh with the intention of invoking the protection of Ra, the Sun God. Its function was to channel celestial and divine energies towards the earth, so much so that the tip is a pole from which energy accumulates. Furthermore, the obelisk also represented a symbol of power, reminding the subjects of the strong bond between the Pharaoh and the divinities.

The grandeur of the obelisks also enraptured the emperor Augustus who brought them to Rome as a symbol of greatness and as war booty after he conquered Egypt in 30 BC. From the 16th century they were valued and used as focal points for the reconstruction of the Roman city, first on the initiative of Sixtus V and then on the initiative of successive Popes.

Rome is the city that still has the largest number of obelisks in the world, there are 13 of them. The Lateran Obelisk located in Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano is the tallest in the world with its 32.18 meters in height.

Properties of obelisks

The obelisk is comparable to a sword, it extends upwards from its base, creating a bridge between the earth and the sky. It is useful to work with turrets and obelisks when you want to balance the spiritual and physical planes and need to find stability. It has the ability to scatter energy in all directions. The general energy flow starts from the tip and goes downwards until it comes out of the base.

To purify the crystals simply place them around the base of the obelisks and leave them overnight.
