Sodalite, properties and legend

The name Sodalite means sodium stone given its origin from rocks crystallized by magmas, but the etymology can be traced back to the Latin word sodalitas which means companion thanks to its protective properties. It is characterized by an iridescent blue color tending to gray with white streaks, not to be confused with lapis lazuli.
