Cupid collection

The dream of eternal love

The new Didoni jewelry collection was made in rutilated quartz and is inspired by the revisited myth of Cupid and Psyche.

The hardness and resistance of the quartz which preserves needle-like rutile crystals within it similar to Cupid's arrows, represent the feeling that unites people with a bond that lasts over time.

Love and Psyche

The God of love Cupid had fallen in love with a beautiful girl named Psyche, but the girl had to promise that during their meetings she would never see his face. One night Psyche could not resist the temptation to look at him, but when he approached, a drop of oil from the lamp fell on his beloved's shoulder. Cupid suddenly woke up and seeing Psyche next to him, he got angry and ran away. Driven by anger, he wandered all night shooting his arrows in every direction and finally, overcome by tiredness, fell into a deep sleep. When he woke up he was attracted by the glow emanating from a rock. He approached and saw that some arrows he had shot had embedded themselves in a transparent and crystalline stone, of great beauty. Sorry for having abandoned his beloved Psyche, he decided to give her a gift. He broke off a piece of rock that contained one of his arrows and gave it the shape of a heart:

just as that rock would always preserve those arrows that he had shot, so their love would last forever.
