How to prepare St. John's water with flowers and stones

When to prepare and what it is used for

The water of San Giovanni is prepared in the magical night between 23 and 24 June and according to legend, this water has beneficial properties, capable of bringing love, health, luck and prosperity. Magic is linked to the summer solstice, the moment in which nature reaches the height of its splendor.

How to prepare the Magic Water

The water of San Giovanni is a water that is left to rest for a whole night, outside under the moon, together with a mesticance of wild herbs and flowers. We Dido also suggest adding natural stones, to have water even richer in benefits.

In addition to a bowl and fresh water, we used sage, rosemary, thyme, mint, daisy flowers, jasmine and hydrangea, hyaline quartz stones, rose quartz, carnelian, tiger's eye, citrine quartz and red jasper.

There is no real rule in the choice of flowers and herbs. Generally you let yourself be inspired by your instincts by choosing between what you have available in the garden or in the vegetable garden. For the stones instead we opted for crystals, tumbled or not, which brought the same benefits of magic water: rose quartz to attract love, carnelian, tiger's eye and citrine quartz that bring success, money and luck and the red jasper that gives balance. The hyaline quartz druse instead serves to enhance and increase the properties of the stones that come into contact with it.

Now we will guide you step by step to its preparation.

On the evening of June 23, take a bowl, preferably of a natural material or glass, and fill it with fresh water. Insert stones of your choice and then flowers and herbs. Leave the container outdoors overnight, so that the herbs can absorb the morning dew, the dew of the gods. On the morning of June 24, use the water of San Giovanni to wash your hands and face, you will be amazed by the energy and scent that this water emanates!
